A Tribute to Dr. Robert Raskin (1957-2012) - Founding chair of Cyberinfrastructure Specialty Group

Dr. Raskin was the founding chair (2008-2009) and board director (2009-2011) of the Cyberinfrastructure Specialty Group (CISG) of the Association of American Geographers. Rob Raskin was a mentor, scholar, friend to many, CISG has written a tribute to Dr. Rob Raskin.


Welcome to the Cyberinfrastructure Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers!

Our objectives: The Cyberinfrastructure (CI) Specialty Group strives to enhance geographic research and scholarship on matters relating to cyberinfrastructure by:
  • encouraging the exchange of ideas and experience among geographers studying technical, social, economic, policy, and cultural aspects of CI.
  • providing a communication channel between CI funding agencies and geographic practitioners.
  • promoting research and advancement in topics related to CI.
  • encouraging reflection on the roles of geographers in CI.

    This year's CISG higlighted AAG session

    This year's AAG highlighted a CISG session titled Mapping Cyberspace and Social Networks I. This session was chaired by Ming-Hsiang Tsou, CISG president, and organized by Ick Hoi Kim and Sarah Wandersee.
