The CyberInfrastructure and Geospatial Information (CIGI) Laboratory researches and develops cutting-edge cyberinfrastructure to advance geospatial sciences and technologies. Currently, specific research areas include:

• Computationally intensive spatial analysis and modeling
• Computational theories and methods in geographic information science
• CyberGIS and cyberinfrastructure
• Data-intensive computational science
• Multi-scale geospatial problem solving and spatiotemporal synthesis
• Parallel and distributed computing

• NSF Blue Waters awarded ~9.8 million computing hours to a team led by Dr. Wang to advance redistricting research
