Open Science Grid

The Open Science Grid (OSG) is a national cyberinfrastructure that brings together computing and storage resources from many campuses and diverse research communities. The CIGI Lab is a part of OSG and has contributed technical and management expertise. Dr. Shaowen Wang served two terms as a member of the OSG Council, which governs the OSG Consortium. Dr. Anand Padmanabhan is a member of the OSG Security team that is responsible for the OSG security framework. In the past CIGI has also contributed to and lead the troubleshooting effort on the OSG.

Additionally, CIGI is a Virtual Organization (VO) in the OSG. The CIGI VO consists of members from earth and social sciences communities who develop and use geospatial information systems and technologies. Our members run computational experiments that exploit opportunistic resources available on the OSG.
